It has been a very adventurous weekend with a long train journey and then drive on Friday as I picked up my birthday present from the outlaws, then a day exploring Frith Hall in the Duddon Valley on Friday before going to Ulverston Lantern Festival in the evening. Today was more fun with breakfast at the annual South Lakes Tractor Run and then another adventure in Wallowbarrow Woods near Seathwaite (also in the Duddon Valley).
Absolutely shattered now, and looking forward to getting back to a “normal” week!

I can’t find anything about this bridge online, so I am assuming that it is a recent (relatively speaking) construction. It is very scenic though and follows the traditional lines and style of a Lakes packhorse bridge.

Frith Hall above the Duddon Valley – it has been a whole load of things over it’s history from a hunting lodge for the aritocracy to a coaching inn and even a smuggling den!
Now it is populated by cows, yet still remains a
This must be a good scratching rock! The cow was looking very pleased with itself.

Bleabeck Bridge on the side of the Duddon Valley was built in or before the 18th Century to carry the coach road that ran along the valley side.
It is a really pretty old bridge, and one that I need to spend more time photographing!
Off on an adventure! Hamish and Roki out in the lead!

I just liked this view, but I would like to go back and spend a bit more time exploring the composition.
